CIMA Research Foundation partners at NextSnow pilot project within the wider NextData National Project, led by the Italian National Research Council’s (CNR).

NextSnow aims at creating a network of different operators analysing snow topics in order to deepen the knowledge on the snow cover dynamics on an Alpine scale. The goal is to create a national database with all available data and implement a snow cover modelling.

CIMA Research Foundation partners on NextSnow project with a consortium composed by the CNR ISAC, ARPA Valle d’Aosta, the Politecnico of Turin (DITIC, DIST) and the University of Turin (Department of Physics, Department of Earth Sciences) in order to be able to proceed simultaneously with ground measurements, remote sensing observations, numerical modelling and an historical series analysis. NextData will create a national system for the retrieval, retention, access and dissemination of environmental and climatic data from mountain and marine areas.
