Headwind

Headwind is the 54 feet sailing catamaran that CIMA Research Foundation has acquired to support part of the research carried out at sea. Headwind has been specifically equipped for the research on large pelagic animals and marine mammals in particular. It is a low impact boat, given the reduced fuel consumption, with a large space especially on the main deck, which allows researchers to comfortably accommodate the equipment needed for sea operations, such as UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), ROV (Remotely Operated underwater Vehicle) and other AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle).
