Municipalities training

Since 2016 CIMA Research Foundation has been commissioned by Regione Liguria to implement a project with two themes: providing municipalities with monitoring tools and contributing to the improvement of training in municipal operators.

For this purpose, CIMA Research Foundation organizes a training course for 48 of the 235 Ligurian Municipalities with 150 participants, during which three training days are organized for each Province: the first two days on the territory and a third day at the CIMA Research Foundation to work on the realization of an “expeditious plan”, i.e. a draft emergency plan, with the essential aspects to be implemented quickly, which will then have to be developed.

CIMA Research Foundation carries out a training work on three representatives for each Municipality (a technician, the mayor or a councillor and a member of civil society) on the management of the emergency and supports them to identify the essential information to be included in a plan. Particular attention is dedicated to the definition of risk scenarios for schools, health facilities and critical points for the road conditions that can need closure in case of emergency. On this basis it is possible to have a basic knowledge of the risk situation in the area and define the most important actions to be implemented.

CIMA Research Foundation also develops a software platform containing tools that can be easily used by non-expert operators to understand the risk information of individual buildings. Standardizing procedures is an operational modality necessary to train the many actors involved, but paying attention to the “sartorial” application of these general rules to the individual Municipality in consideration of its peculiarities and differences. The training courses are fundamental stages in order to spread the knowledge of the CIMA Research Foundation in the quickest, amplest and simplest way possible.
