The National Civil Protection Week, promoted by the Minister for Civil Protection and Marine Policies, begins today and will conclude on October 13 with the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction and the “Io non rischio” campaign.
Once again this year, the National Civil Protection Week—a week that is dear to us—offers an opportunity to inform and raise awareness, through various initiatives, about the risks in our territory and the strategies to mitigate them.
The week, promoted by the Minister for Civil Protection and Marine Policies, has been organized as part of the agreement between the Civil Protection Department and the Ministry of Education and Merit. It includes a variety of events, ranging from conferences to public meetings. The scientific and institutional communities, citizens, and volunteers will have opportunities to engage in discussions and access information on risks and civil protection, aiming to promote knowledge of correct behaviors and awareness of the characteristics of the territory we live in. This sixth edition of the event places special emphasis on young people: it’s the occasion to distribute in all lower secondary schools the comic book L’Attimo decisivo – La virgola, created to explain the volcanic risk on our peninsula.
As every year, the National Civil Protection Week will conclude with the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction and the Io non rischio campaign, promoted by the National Civil Protection Service, which brings the culture of prevention to hundreds of town squares across Italy.
