CIMA Research Foundation and the Italian Red Cross have signed a convention for the development of joint activities within the fields of risk management and risk mitigation, through research and training.
The agreement includes the application of innovative systems, studies and research alongside the joint participation in programs and projects aimed at strengthening risk management capacities both nationally and internationally: simulations, exercises and specific training courses are some of the activities already planned.
Within this agreement, CIMA Research Foundation is recognized as Hydro-Meteorological Reference Centre for the Italian Red Cross Emergency Planning, contributing to harmonize the interaction between risk analysis, Early Warning Systems and preparedness actions.
Several activities are already taking place, mainly within the PPRD East 3 project, such as the jointly design of training courses on planning and preparedness procedures and the identification of data exchange and information management systems for the mitigation of hydro-meteorological impacts’ events.
