The project supports FAO in developing guidelines and tools for building Impact and Vulnerability (I&V) data inventories on drought, with the aim of strengthening the information base for proactive risk management at global and national levels. Activities include defining a standardized methodology, developing a functional prototype of the global I&V data inventory, piloting it in three countries, and promoting national technical capacities for I&V data management.
Goals and expected results
The initiative aims to establish an operational methodology and identify digital tools for collecting, validating, and integrating drought impact and vulnerability data. Expected results: a global I&V data inventory; three national pilot inventories; capacity building, validation, and dissemination activities to promote the use of I&V data in drought risk management.
CIMA Research Foundation’s contribution
CIMA Research Foundation leads the methodological and technical development, produces the global I&V data inventory prototype, supports the implementation of national inventories in three pilot countries, and contributes to validation, capacity building, and dissemination activities jointly with FAO.
