Advanced Training on Civil Protection

The Advanced Training programme on Civil Protection at CIMA research Foundation aims at preparing a new generation of civil protection managers who will be grounded in the procedures and technologies for prediction, prevention and mitigation of natural and man-made disasters.
The trainers of CIMA Foundation have substantial research and operational experience in the area of civil protection, which means the bring the training alive combining theoretical background with real life examples and experience of 'working in the field'.
They will also illustrate their teaching with the use of topical case studies.The trainees have the opportunity to learn state-of-the-art techniques for the prediction of meteorological and hydrological extreme events and to assess the intrinsic uncertainty associated with that. The trainees will also focus on the technique for the prediction and management of wildfire and industrial accidents.
The training basically involves class lectures, technical visits, and supervised training. The supervised training will take place in a normal working situation, using the actual tools, equipment, documents or materials that CIMA researches use during their daily activity for the projects of the Foundation.

At present two different training programmes are available:

2) Integrated systems for hydrometeorological and forest-fire risk prediction and monitoring.
