A prototype of operational room

Objectives
The aim of the operational room is to provide technical support to civil protection decision-makers in order to issue meteo-hydrological and wild fire risk warnings, through a conform surveillance.
All the hydro-meteorological information are conveyed in real time to the Operational Room.
Scientists enforce research activities to bring up-to-date the scenarios and technological upgrading of:

  • operational procedures;
  • sensing and computational tools;
  • validation procedures;
  • the probability of floods, landslides and wild fires.

Technical evaluation
The staff of the operational room provide the best technical evaluation in order to predict:

  • the possible evolution of weather conditions;
  • the ground effects;
  • the wild fire risk;
  • the consequential scenarios.

The evaluation are based on the most advanced research and technology instruments developed by CIMA Foundation and tested in an operational context.

Certification of procedures
All the activities are made through a dedicate staff that following certificated procedures both in order to manage data stream and to provide consequence evaluation.
