CIMA Foundation has signed an agreement with the Italian Ministry of Regional Affair.

CIMA Foundation has signed an agreement with the Italian Ministry of Regional Affair (www.affariregionali.it) for the commitment of service for study and research on "Operational Guidelines for development of the organization of local authorities (Regions, Provinces, Municipalities) in preventing and managing natural disasters, under the framework of the different institutional roles" as part of the National Operational Program - Governance and System Actions (PON-GAS), specific objective 5.2.

This project aims at defining and disseminate guidelines for Regional and sub-regional governance in the field of prevention and management of natural disasters. These guidelines will help to identify the roles of all stakeholders in Civil Protection actions related to natural disasters. This process will proceed by the identification of possible weaknesses that emerge from the current legal framework, suggesting the possible "best practices" (also not identified by the law) to be implemented in order to achieve higher levels of efficiency, both in terms of communication and in terms of prevention of natural disasters.

The guidelines will focus on the Regions “Convergence Objective”: Calabria, Campania, Puglia e Sicilia.
