Regione Liguria approves Activities Plan 2013      

Regione Liguria has approved the activities plan for the year 2013 to develop within the three-year convention signed between Regione Liguria and CIMA Research Foundation. CIMA Research Foundation will perform the following tasks:

i) Management and maintenance of the Settepani radar system and of all procedures and tools necessary for its operational use aimed at monitoring the nowcasting of intense precipitation events;

ii) Refining technical and scientific modelling procedures for floods forecasting and monitoring in the region;

iii) Scientific and technical support aimed at the training/information of civil protection staff, including the application of hydro meteorological early-warning procedures.

iv) Scientific and technical support on the implementation and maintenance of tools and procedures for the regional planning of wildfire risk forecasting, prevention and firefighting activities.

All activities are based on scientific assistance and on the development of tools and techniques necessary to mitigate the effects of natural hazards in the region, with particular emphasis on meteo-hydrological and wildfire risk, as well as on the dissemination of the culture of risk at all levels.
