Pian dei Corsi Forest Nursery

The Pian dei Corsi forest nursery, located in the town of Rialto (SV) was given in concession to CIMA Research Foundation in July 2012 after being under the management of the Comunità Montana Pollupice, since 1980. The forest nursery is located at 855 meters above the sea level and covers an area of over three hectares in the inland of Finale Ligure.

The Pian dei Corsi forest nursery is a multipurpose facility designed to promote the knowledge, the respect and the restoration of the local territory and its natural dynamics. With the management input of CIMA Research Foundation, the forest nursery will also become an experimental laboratory for applied research and training in the areas of biodiversity conservation/restoration and sustainable management of forest resources.

Within the forest nursery there is a fully equipped excursion refuge with 20 beds, heating, hot water and a functional kitchen. The binominal link between the forest nursery - excursion refuge will allow CIMA Research Foundation to organize educational events, such as internships and apprenticeships, international master courses and workshops in the fields of environmental education and eco-tourism. Further details on training courses provided by CIMA Research Foundation will soon be available to those who request it.
