Provincial Captain of the Fire Department of Savona visits CIMA Research Foundation

On Tuesday, May 29 the Provincial Captain of the Fire Department of Savona, Mr. Arthur Antonelli has visited the Operations Centre of CIMA Research Foundation. At the meeting were explored possible synergies between the Fire Department activities and the instruments of prediction of natural hazards created by CIMA Research Foundation. Such synergies might be a useful step for the enhancement of human resources and equipment management within Civil Protection working groups.

The captain has seen the operationality of the instruments and appreciated the scientific approach that is at the basis of the research conducted in the field of "prediction and prevention of natural hazards" – mainly geological and forest fires risk but also risk arising from industrial spills of hazardous substances into the atmosphere.

This meeting follows CIMA Research Foundation strategy of greater involvement with the local comunity, aiming to create an increasingly dynamic dialogue between science and civil society.
