New Afrodite School

New Afrodite School is the postgraduate teaching program of CIMA Research Foundation in collaboration with the University of Genova, on the subjects of Disaster, Resources and Poverty. The name "New Afrodite" derives from the weather forecasting system of the Italian National Weather Service - called "Afrodite" - used in the 80's and able to make short term weather forecast based on the collection of real-time weather observations.

The basic idea of sharing information to improve knowledge and forecast capabilities of natural and man made disaster scenarios is the same that underlies the New Afrodite teaching programme.
